It has been a while since we posted an update on AppFabric SDK for Ruby Developers.

The November 2009 Community Technology Preview (CTP) release of AppFabric was released earlier this week. To find out more about the AppFabric November 2009 CTP, please refer to the AppFabric blog.

The AppFabric Ruby SDK team is working on a release that is compatible with the November 2009 release of AppFabric that we expect to announce soon. Please stay tuned!

Introducing AppFabric SDK for Ruby

The DotNetServicesRuby team is very proud of launching the Milestone 1 - Technology Preview of AppFabric SDK for Ruby.

The purpose of this project is to provide an interoperable open source Ruby Software Development Kit (SDK) - set of libraries, tools, prescriptive patterns & guidance & real world sample applications that will enhance productivity for developers. Developers will be able to leverage the AppFabric to extend their Ruby applications by using the Microsoft Azure services platform to build, deploy and manage reliable, internet-scale applications.

The project has been released as an open source project under BSD license.

The focus of this release is to demonstrate interoperable architecture, Service Bus and Web-Style (REST) Authentication. The detailed API documentation is available here. We are excited about making this initial version available to you and look forward to your feedback.

Some of the features we have included in the build are:

  • Access Control Service
  • Volatile Message Buffer (interactions)
  • Authentication
  • Web-style-HttpRelayBinding
  • Interactive Credentials
  • Notification Service
  • ServiceBus Environment Settings
